Toulouse
Toulouse is a city of 650 000 inhabitants located in the South of France, capital of the Midi-Pyrénées region. It is located on the banks of the Garonne, close to the Pyrénées and halfway between the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea. It is well known for some remarkable monuments (Basilique St-Sernin, Hôtel d’Assézat, Musée des Augustins, etc.). The warm glow of red bricks and tiles gives Toulouse its nickname, «La ville rose» (the rose red city).
Toulouse is also a major city in Europe for Aerospace industry and Embedded Systems with several important companies (Airbus, Astrium, Alcatel Space, CNES, Siemens VDO, FreeScale).

The conference will take place downtown in the Ecole Nationale Supérieure d'Electrotechnique, d'Electronique, d'Informatique, d'Hydraulique et des Télécommunications (ENSEEIHT) which is an elite School (Grande Ecole : a sort ot Ivy League School)

How to reach Toulouse
- By Air: Toulouse-Blagnac International Airport is located just 9 km northwest of the Toulouse city center. Many international airlines, including Air France, British Airways, Lufthansa, easyJet and Aer Lingus operate regular flights to Toulouse from destinations across France and Europe. Toulouse is just an hour from Madrid, 1 hour 20 minutes from London, and an hour from Paris. More than 30 daily flights operate between Toulouse and Paris only. - By Rail: Toulouse has a good rail networks connecting it to major cities of France, which in turn connect it to international destinations in Europe. High-speed TGV trains connect Toulouse to London, Paris, Lille and other major cities of France and Europe. You can travel by Eurostar from London Waterloo to Paris or Lille, and then switch to the French SNCF network to reach Toulouse.
- By Road: Toulouse has a good network of roads, connecting it to major destinations across France and Europe. Toulouse is easily accessible by road from Paris, Madrid, Barcelona, Geneva, Bordeaux, Montpellier, Lyon, Marseille, Nice and other cities of Europe. Euroline buses operate regular services between Touloand major destinations across Europe, including London, Barcelona and Paris.
How to get to the City Center
- arriving in Toulouse by plane at the International Airport of Toulouse Blagnac: you take either a taxi or the airport shuttke bus to the city center (stop at "Allées Jean Jaures").
- arriving by rail at Toulouse Matabiau railway station, you cross the canal and you go to the "Allées Jean Jaures".
